Selective isolation of actinomycetes for inhibition activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus SK1

Abstract 205 isolates of actinomycetes bacteria were isolated from soil samples collected Satun province, Thailand. To have more chances to get diverse groups bacteria, treated using three different methods before inoculated on two selective media, humic acid-vitamin agar and coal vitamin agar. After months incubation at 30°C, all typically characteristic colonies picked purified then tested for inhibition activity against a virulent pathogen, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus SK1 (MRSA SK 1) double-layer plate method.
